TNPSC Group 2 Syllabus: Recently Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has released the Revised TNPSC Group 2 2022 pdf syllabus for the upcoming Grade 2 Exam.

Every year the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) conducts the Combined Civil Services Examination Group II (CCSE-II) to recruit candidates for various Civil Services in Tamil Nadu. TNPSC conducts CCSE-II exams for Group 2 and 2A posts.

 

  • Group 2 (Interview Posts): Selection of candidates for vacancies released under Group 2 is done on the basis of the preliminary exam, main written exam, and Interview/Personality Test.
  • Group 2A (Non-Interview Posts): Selection of candidates for vacancies released under Group 2A is done based on marks obtained in them in the written exam only.

 

Before start preparation for the exam it is advisable to go through the exam pattern and syllabus of the TNPSC Group 2 exam. The commission release the vacancies under two division, Group 2 and Group 2A. Group 2 and Group 2A have only one exam difference i.e., interview. Group 2 include vacancies having interview while Group 2A have vacancies without interview.

  • TNPSC has removed General Tamil and General English sections in TNPSC Group II/Group IIA prelims exam.
  • TNPSC group 2/group 2A has common syllabus for prelims and main exams.

TN Public Service Commission has once again made changes to the Group 2 Mains Syllabus.

This means that Group 2 Mains Paper 2 questions are increased as well as Total marks also increased to 300 marks from 200.

TNPSC Group 2 Syllabus: Exam Pattern

 

The TNPSC Group 2 Exam consists of 3 phases:-

  • Prelims
  • Mains- This will comprise of 2 papers: Paper I and Paper II
  • Interview- The interview will be held for the candidates who wish to appear or as per the cut off set by the Commission.
    Group 2 (Interview Posts): Selection of candidates for vacancies released under Group 2 is done on the basis of the preliminary exam, main written exam, and Interview/Personality Test.
    Group 2A (Non-Interview Posts): Selection of candidates for vacancies released under Group 2A is done based on marks obtained in them in the written exam only.

 

The services are divided into Group 2 and Group 2A. Interview is conducted for only Group 2 vacancies. For Group 2A vacancies there is no interview.

TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Exam Pattern 2022 pdf

 

TNPSC has made major changes in Group 2 Prelims Exam 2022 pdf, i.e., removed the General Tamil/English Part. Likewise, the mains examination also has made several changes.

 

Before going to the syllabus, check the prelims and mains detailed exam pattern. The Prelims exam is just to screen the non serious candidates from the exam process. The prelims exam is only qualifying in nature. Here we have provided the main highlight of TNPSC Group 2 Prelims exam.

 

TNPSC Group 2 prelims exam is completely objective type and designed to tests the candidates proficiency in General Studies, Aptitude and Mental Ability sections. The qualifying marks of TNPSC group 2 preliminary exam is 90.

TNPSC Group 2 Syllabus for Prelims 2022 pdf – 2022 pdf

 

The TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Syllabus will have 200 Objective type questions.

The prelims exam is divided into 2 parts, General Studies and Aptitude test.

  • The General studies section has 175 questions from the graduation level.
  • Aptitude and Mental Ability test section has 25 questions and will be given from SSLC standard level.

TNPSC Group 2 Syllabus: Mains Exam Pattern

 

The TNPSC Group 2 Mains Exam have two papers:-

Paper I – Qualifying in nature

Paper II – scoring and qualifying in nature

 

  • The marks secured in the Mains exam will be considered for the final merit list.
  • Paper I: This paper have 2 questions for each Tamil to English Translation and English to Tamil Translation.
  • Paper II: It has 15 questions, 3 each from Precise Writing, Comprehension, Hints Development and Essay Writing on ‘Thirukkural’ and Letter writing.
  • Minimum 102 and 90 marks required to qualify in group 2 and group 2A main exams respectively.
  • TNPSC Group 2 exam is bilingual that available in both the English and Tamil languages.
  • In addition to mains exam, the TNPSC Group 2 services has interview that carries 40 marks.
  • TNPSC Group 2 mains exam has 300 marks for non-interview posts and 340 marks for interview post.

Candidates who qualify the prelims exam are going to appear for the mains exam. The mains exam is divided into two parts i.e., Paper I and Paper II. The sheet of paper II of those candidates who score minimum qualifying marks in paper I will be evaluated.
