1001 ADMahmud Ghazni’s first invasion of India during which he defeated Jaipal, ruler of Punjab.
1025 ADSomnath Temple destroyed by Mahmud Ghazni.
1191 ADThe first battle of Tarain was fought between Prithviraj Chauhan and Mahmud Ghori. Prithviraj Chauhan won the battle
1192 ADSecond battle of Tarain was fought in which Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated
1206 ADQutubuddin Aibak became the ruler of Delhi.
1210 ADQutubuddin Aibak died.
1221 ADMongol invasion of India under Chengiz Khan.
1236 ADRazia Sultana ascended the throne of Delhi.
1240 ADRazia Sultana’s death.
1296 ADAlauddin Khilji became the Sultan of Delhi.
1316 ADAlauddin Khilji died.
1325 ADMuhammad-bin-Tughlaq overtook the Throne of Delhi Sultanate.
1327 ADMuhammad-in-Tughlaq transferred the capital of his empire from Delhi to Devagiri (Daulatabad) in Deccan
1336 ADVijaynagar empire was founded by 2 brothers – Harihar and Bukka.
1351 ADFiroz Shah Tughlaq succeeded Muhammad bin Tughlaq to the Delhi Throne.
1398 ADTimur’s invaded India.
1469 ADBirth of Sant Guru Nanak.
1494 ADBabur became the ruler of Farghana.
1497–98 ADVasco di Gama reached India
1526 ADMughal Dynasty was founded by Babur when he defeated Ibrahim Lodhi in the First Battle of Panipat.
1527 ADRana Sanga was defeated by Babur in the Battle of Khanwa.
1530 ADHumayun ascended to the Mughal throne after Babur’s death.
1539 ADBattle of Chausa – Humayun defeated by Sher Shah Suri who became India’s emperor.
1555 ADHumayun recaptured Delhi by ending the Sur Empire
1556 ADSecond Battle of Panipat between Bairam Khan and Hemu, where Hemu was defeated
1556 ADBattle of Talikota (Rakshasa-Tangadi) fought between Vijaynagar and the combined army of Sultans of Bijapur, Bidar, Ahmadnagar, and Golconda.
1576 ADAkbar defeated Maharana Pratap in the Battle of Haldighati.
1582 ADAkbar founded Din-i-Ilahi.
1600 ADEnglish East India Company established.
1605 ADDeath of Akbar followed by Jahangir’s accession to the Mughal Throne.
1606 ADSikhs 5th Guru – Guru Arjun Dev, was executed by Jahangir
1615 ADSir Thomas Roe the British Official visited the court of Jahangir.
1627 ADShivaji was Born
1628 ADShahjahan ascended to the Mughal Throne to become the emperor of India.
1634 ADThe English permitted to trade in India (in Bengal).
1659 ADAurangzeb captured the Mughal Throne and imprisoned Shahjahan.
1665 ADAurangzeb captured Shivaji when he visited the Mughal Court.
1666 ADDeath of Shahjahan.
1675 ADThe 9th Guru of Sikhs – Guru Teg Bahadur was executed by Aurangzeb.
1680 ADDeath of Shivaji.
1707 ADAurangzeb in Deccan.
1708 ADDeath of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru of Sikhs.
1739 ADNorth India Invaded by Nadir Shah the ruler of Iran
1757 ADBattle of Plassey in which Britsih under Robert Clive defeated the Bengal Ruler – Siraj ud daula and laid the foundation of British rule in India
