APPSC Group 2 Exam Pattern 2020


Before getting into the detailed APPSC Group 2 Syllabus, the candidates should be known of the updated APPSC Group 2 exam pattern.


APPSC Group 2 selection procedure includes 3 stages:


  • Preliminary Exam
  • Mains Exam
  • Interview


Candidates have to pass the Prelims Exam in order to be eligible to appear in the Mains Exam and Interview round. The APPSC Group 2 exam will be conducted in offline mode. All the questions asked will be of Multiple Choice Question type.

APPSC Group 2 Syllabus


The APPSC Group 2 prelims exam is an objective type exam conducted offline at various designated exam centers across the state.  The prelims exam work as a filter exam for the main exam and it weeds out the undeserving candidates from the rest of the exam process. 


The APPSC Syllabus is the same for the prelims and the main exam. The only difference is the depth of the questions asked in the prelims and the main exam. The candidates need to prepare the same topics for the prelims and the main exam. Therefore, the candidates should prepare the topic in its entirety to cover both the prelims and the main exam.

  4. General Science and its applications to the day-to-day life contemporary developments in Science & Technology and Information Technology.
  5. Logical reasoning, analytical ability and logical interpretation
  6. Disaster management: vulnerability profile, prevention and mitigation strategies, application of Remote Sensing and GIS in the assessment of disaster
  7. Social-economic and political history of modern India with emphases on Indian national movement.
  8. Indian polity and governance: constitutional issues, public policy, reforms and e-governance initiatives.
  9. Geography of India with a focus on Andhra Pradesh.

An office Automation with usage of computers and associated Software test will be conducted after the APPSC Group 2 main exam. This test is qualifying only and the candidates need to secure the qualifying marks in this test as follows:-
